Flower Preservation FAQ

Everything you need to know about preserving your flowers. Can't find your answer? We're just a call or email away.

Getting Started

We recommend placing your order as far in advance as possible to ensure everything is set for your reservation. However, if you're in a time crunch, no worries — just make sure to place your order before sending your flowers so we know to expect them. We accept orders year-round!

It's simple! Choose the preservation product you want from our Resin Keepsake collection. When you add it to your cart, you'll select your event date and preferred shipping method. Purchasing your resin product is what officially books your preservation and secures your spot in our queue.

Absolutely! You can place your order anytime before sending your flowers. Just be sure to overnight them to us, and we'll get started on drying them right away. Please note that last-minute reservations may have a slightly longer turnaround time depending on our current workload, but we'll keep you updated along the way.

Yes! If your wedding or event was within the last 4 days and your flowers are still in good condition, you can overnight them to us for preservation.

If it has been more than 4 days, we recommend air drying them by carefully separating the stems and hanging them upside down in a dark, dry space for about 3 weeks or until they feel fully dry and slightly crunchy.

If your bouquet is no longer available, we can recreate it using similar flowers from our studio inventory based on photos you provide. Just reach out to us with a picture of your bouquet and we'll help you explore the best options!

You're in good hands! Everlasting Bloom Co. is trusted by brides nationwide — we've had the honor of preserving wedding bouquets from all 50 states. Each piece is handcrafted with care in our St. Louis studio using our proprietary PetalSafe™ resin, designed to preserve your blooms beautifully for a lifetime.

Our sister company, Eagle Specialty Products, has over 65 years of experience in the coatings industry — and we developed our own resin formula specifically for flower preservation. We're a family-run business that treats every bouquet like it's our own.

Shipping Your Flowers

For the best results, we recommend overnighting your flowers the day after your wedding, so they arrive at our studio within 48 hours. That said, we have great results with nearly all bouquets we receive within 4 days after the event.

Important: Do not ship your flowers on Thursday or Friday. We are closed Saturday–Sunday and will not be here to accept them.

Our Bloom Box is our easiest shipping solution and can be purchased ahead of your event to make the process as streamlined and stress-free as possible. It includes everything you'll need to safely package your bouquet after the wedding:

  • Climate-controlled, insulated packaging
  • Prepaid overnight FedEx shipping label
  • Detailed packing instructions
  • All necessary shipping materials

All the bride needs to do is designate someone they trust (like a maid of honor, family member, or parent) to follow our Fresh Flower Shipping Guide and drop the box off at any FedEx location.

That said, the Bloom Box is completely optional — you're welcome to source your own shipping materials and method if you prefer, or purchase just our discounted overnight shipping label.

We typically ship the Bloom Box within 1 business day. It's shipped via FedEx Ground from our studio in Saint Louis, MO. Most customers receive their Bloom Box within 3–5 days of it being shipped.

Our discounted overnight FedEx shipping label is $100 when purchased separately. It's also included with the purchase of a Bloom Box.

No worries! Your prepaid overnight shipping label is emailed directly from FedEx to the email address used at checkout. If you don't see it in your inbox, please check your spam or promotions folders.

Still can't find it? Just reach out to us at info@everlastingbloomco.com or call (314) 241-1647, and we'll resend it right away!

To help keep your flowers fresh:

  • Keep them in water as much as possible during and after your event
  • Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources
  • Avoid touching the petals — this can lead to bruising in the resin
  • Do not place them in the fridge — this can encourage mold

Just keep them cool and hydrated, and they'll be in great shape for shipping!

Yes! For those in or around the St. Louis area, we offer a local drop-off option. This is the most affordable and safest method, as your flowers stay fresh in water and are handed directly to us — no packaging or shipping involved.

Please call us to schedule a drop-off time before coming.

Yes! We're happy to preserve flowers shipped from outside the U.S., but all international shipping must be arranged by the customer. We don't currently offer international labels or customs handling, so you'll need to select your preferred carrier and complete any required customs paperwork.

Once your flowers arrive at our studio, we'll take care of everything from there!

Yes, we can ship the finished keepsake internationally, but additional fees may apply. Reach out to us at info@everlastingbloomco.com and we can provide more information and a quote.

The Preservation Process

We carefully preserve your flowers in a multi-step process:

  • Step 1 — Drying: We dry your bouquet using a gentle silica sand method that maintains the shape and color of your blooms
  • Step 2 — Selection: We select the best flowers for your chosen piece(s)
  • Step 3 — Casting: We cast your flowers in our proprietary PetalSafe™ resin, formulated in-house for crystal-clear clarity and long-lasting durability
  • Step 4 — Finishing: Each keepsake is carefully finished and inspected before shipping

Every piece is handcrafted with care in our St. Louis studio.

We typically complete keepsakes within 10–12 weeks from the day your flowers arrive at our studio. During peak wedding seasons (typically spring and fall), turnaround times may extend further.

You can always track your order's progress on our website, and we'll send email updates as your flowers move through drying and casting.

You'll receive an email from us at key milestones:

  • When we've received your flowers
  • When your flowers have finished the drying process and been added to our casting queue
  • When we begin the casting process
  • When your order is on its way to you

You can also track your order anytime on our website. And of course, if you have questions at any point, feel free to reach out — we're happy to help!

We do our best to preserve the natural beauty of your flowers throughout the drying and casting process. However, some color changes are a natural part of working with fresh flowers:

  • Most flowers will naturally darken slightly and lose some vibrancy as they dry
  • Tropical flowers tend to brown during the drying phase
  • Purple flowers can turn more mauve to brown when moisture is removed
  • Some flowers may develop spots or translucent areas

We believe these natural variations only add to the uniqueness of each piece, telling the true story of the memories you're preserving.

Don't worry — we're experts at working with imperfect blooms! If your flowers arrive damaged or wilted to the point where preservation isn't possible, we'll reach out to discuss your options:

  • Supplement with stock flowers: We can add complementary flowers from our inventory
  • Resend your bouquet: You can recreate and ship new flowers
  • Refund: Receive a refund for your preservation pieces (shipping costs are non-refundable)

We'll always contact you with photos and options before proceeding.

We select the best blooms for your chosen piece(s). Any leftover flowers in good condition may be added to our studio inventory, which helps us supplement other pieces when brides' flowers arrive damaged or need a little extra.

Products & Customization

Our most popular product is our Bookends — they're a stunning, functional way to display your preserved flowers and make a beautiful statement piece for any room.

We also offer many other popular options like our Standing Circle, Large Arch, Heart, and Ring Holder — perfect for gifting or pairing with a larger piece.

Most full-size roses are too large for our heart mold, since it's only about 2 inches deep. The same applies to our Tray mold. For roses and larger flowers like peonies, we usually recommend a mold that can handle a 3-inch pour or deeper — like our Standing Circle, Large Arch, or Bookends.

If you're set on the heart shape, we can sometimes trim or flatten the blooms slightly, but it's best to check with us first! Feel free to send a photo of your bouquet and we'll help guide you to the right fit.

Yes, absolutely! When you order, you can leave us a note with any specific flowers you'd like featured. You can also email us a photo of your bouquet and let us know if there are certain flowers or colors you'd like us to highlight.

Yes! We're happy to create as many pieces as the size of your bouquet will allow. Many brides order a statement piece for themselves plus smaller items like coasters or ring holders as gifts for their wedding party.

Absolutely — we love adding personal touches! Just securely package the items with your flowers and include a note in your order so we know to incorporate them. You can also email a photo and any special instructions to info@everlastingbloomco.com.

Yes! We can preserve artificial flowers using the same beautiful resin molds we use for fresh flowers, and the price is exactly the same. Since faux flowers don't need to be shipped overnight, you'll often save on shipping costs.

Just checkout with whichever keepsake you'd like, send us your faux flowers whenever you're ready, and we'll take it from there!

Yes! If your bouquet has been dried and stored well, we can still preserve it in resin — even if it's many months or years old. As long as the flowers aren't crumbling or falling apart when touched, we can carefully handle and cast them into your chosen keepsake.

If you're unsure, send us a few photos and we'll confirm before you ship them.

Yes! If your original bouquet is no longer available, we can recreate it using similar flowers from our studio inventory based on photos you provide. Just reach out to us with pictures of your bouquet and we'll help you explore the best options.

After You Receive Your Keepsake

It's natural for some resin products to develop an amber hue over time. However, our PetalSafe™ resin is specially formulated to be ultra UV-resistant, which significantly slows this process and keeps your piece looking beautiful for years to come. In our testing, it outperforms every other top preservation company we've compared against.

To help preserve its appearance, we recommend keeping your keepsake away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Our keepsakes are made using our proprietary PetalSafe™ resin, formulated for clarity, UV-resistance, and long-term durability. It won't noticeably yellow or cloud over time like cheaper alternatives, and it's resistant to scratches and warping.

To keep your keepsake looking its best:

  • Keep it away from direct sunlight to prevent any yellowing
  • Avoid placing it near heat sources
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth
  • Display it somewhere you can enjoy it every day!

If your finished keepsake arrives damaged, please contact us within 30 days at info@everlastingbloomco.com with your order number and photos of the damage. We'll work with you to resolve the issue.

Special Situations

  • Memorials and funerals
  • Anniversaries
  • Graduations
  • Baby showers
  • Proms and special events
  • Any flowers that hold special meaning to you

That's so thoughtful! You have a few options:

  • Order as a Gift: Place an order and note that it's a gift at checkout — we'll email the recipient with clear next steps
  • Ship Bloom Box to Them: We can ship the Bloom Box directly to the bride if you wish

We'll take great care of them and walk them through the whole process!

Great news — we have an official brand store with The Knot! You can also add our products to other registry platforms.

Visit our Add to Registry page for complete instructions on adding Everlasting Bloom Co. products to your wedding registry on The Knot, Zola, and other platforms.

No problem! Please reach out to us right away at info@everlastingbloomco.com or (314) 241-1647.

Since it's too late to send a Bloom Box in time, we can refund you $50 for the cost of the Bloom Box and send you an overnight shipping label right away instead. You'll then need to follow our Fresh Flower Shipping Guide and use your own packaging.
